Marvel's Avengers is an action-adventure game developed by Crystal Dynamics in collaboration with Eidos-Montréal, Crystal Northwest, and Nixxes Software, and published by Square Enix, in collaboration with Marvel Entertainment. The first of several games based on Marvel Entertainment's popular cinematic series, Marvel's Avengers released on September 4, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.

Story

On A-Day, Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, and Thor prepare to unveil a hi-tech Avengers Headquarters in San Francisco, along with a helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source. However, an accident causes major destruction and leads to the disbanding of the Avengers. Five years later, with the world in peril and Super Heroes outlawed, a young woman named Kamala Khan sets out to reassemble Earth's Mightiest Heroes.[1]

Gameplay

Marvel's Avengers features a cinematic story, content updates, and online co-op missions of up to four players.[1]

Development

Marvel's Avengers is the first in a series of Marvel-based video games developed in partnership with Square Enix and first teased on January 26, 2017. The title was officially revealed at E3 2019, on June 10, 2019.[1] Along with the first full trailer for the title, the development team announced the voice cast, consisting of Troy Baker as The Hulk, Nolan North as Iron Man, Travis Willingham as Thor, Laura Bailey as Black Widow, and Jeff Schine as Captain America. The game was announced to be in development by Square Enix's subsidiaries Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal, in collaboration with Nixxes Software.

On January 14, Crystal Dynamics announced that it had delayed Marvel's Avengers to September 4, 2020.[2]
