Leonard Nimoy, born Leonard Simon Nimoy, was an American actor, film director, poet, singer and photographer. Nimoy was best known for his role as Spock in the original Star Trek series (1966–69), and in multiple film, television and video game sequels. He is also known for his work as the voice of Master Xehanort, the antagonist of the Kingdom Hearts series.
Nimoy passed away in his home in Bel Air, Los Angeles on February 27, 2015 due to complications with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which he'd been battling since February 2014.
