Secret of Mana HD is a 3D remake of the second game in the Mana series. It follows precedent set by Adventures of Mana in that it touches up with visual presentation with crisp polygonal models in lieu of sprites, more refined sound quality, and voice acting while leaving the gameplay untouched and pristine.

The battle for Mana includes many tumultuous encounters along the way; armed with the Mana Sword and joined by his two companions Primm and Popoi, Randi leads the epic quest to battle the treacherous empire as it tries to gain control of Mana.
In order to defeat the forces of evil, Randi, Primm and Popoi must befriend the eight elementals who hold the power that comprises Mana. The legacy of Mana returns as the brave warriors set forth to bring balance back to the world.
The memorable adventure of Randi, Primm and Popoi is reborn in Secret of Mana!
Story
The plot of the game is the same as its original version, but with a newly localized script to better convey information lost due to cartridge limitation in 1993.
The game begins with a village lad named Randi stumbling upon a rusted sword set in a stone pedestal after cascading down a waterfall near his home. Upon pulling the sword from the stone, monsters return to the world and he is summarily banished from his village. In short order, Randi encounters Primm and Popoi and is pulled into a world-shaking chain of events revolving around the ethereal substance known as Mana and the forces that seek to exploit it for their own ends.
