Kingdom Hearts is an Action role-playing game developed by Square Co., Ltd.. Kingdom Hearts was released in Japan on March 28. 2002, in North America on September 17, 2002, in Europe on November 15, 2002, and in Australasia on November 22, 2002. Kingdom Hearts was released exclusively for the PlayStation 2. Kingdom Hearts follows the adventures of the main protagonist, Sora and his goal to restore his world to its former state and reunite with all his friends. During his adventures, Sora meets many Disney and Final Fantasy characters during his quest. Kingdom Hearts includes many of Disney's characters' actual voice actors and actresses. Kingdom Hearts met great critical reception, and was very commercially successful. Kingdom Hearts has sold about 5.6 million copies worldwide, and was the PlayStation 2's ninth best selling game of all time. Kingdom Hearts was followed by Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, and has since then prompted several sequels.
