Final Fantasy III is the third installment in the Final Fantasy series, developed by Square Co., Ltd., and released on the Nintendo Family Computer (Famicom) in 1990. It had a Japan only release until much later in 2006 when it was officially released on the Nintendo DS in America and Europe. | |||
But up until 2006, Final Fantasy III was the only installment in the series to have never seen official English localization, and the only one of the early numbered Final Fantasy games to not see a port or remake. Plans have been made to remake the game on WonderSwan Color but the company faced difficulties and when the console was failing they canceled it completely. | |||

Final Fantasy III is the third installment in the Final Fantasy series, developed by Square Co., Ltd., and released on the Nintendo Family Computer (Famicom) in 1990. It had a Japan only release until much later in 2006 when it was officially released on the Nintendo DS in America and Europe.
