Kingdom Hearts IV was announced during the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary celebration event in Tokyo, Japan, on April 10, 2022.[1] Series director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that the game will being developed in the recently-announced Unreal Engine 5.
